Dear Benzie County Residents,
The Recycling Site located at Save-A-Lot in Benzonia will be removed on Friday, May 1st. We understand that this presents a considerable inconvenience for many area residents and we are dedicated to finding a solution very soon. Until a new site is in place, please utilize the residential recycling sites listed below.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE RECYCLEING SITE IN BEULAH.
Use of the Beulah Site for materials that would have otherwise gone to Save-A-Lot may result in the removal of the Beulah site.
Additional bins will be placed at the remaining sites that are able to accommodate.
Honor at the Homestead Township Hall (Best option for the short term)
Lake Ann Elementary School on Bronson Lake Road
Almira Township Park on Ole’ White Road Frankfort at 404 Parkview Lane (Behind the Storm Cloud Brewery off 115) Thompsonville Village DPW Maintenance Garage on County Road 669
I would like to request that we work together as a community to navigate this challenging situation in a manner that highlights the good people we are. Working together toward a solution. Please contact the Materials Management Department if you happen to be a Commercial or Industrial property owner that can accommodate the recycling bins, even if only in the short term, within or near the Benzonia Township area. 231-882-0554
Please remember to break down ALL cardboard boxes, big and small, before placing them in the bins. If an item is not listed on the front of the recycling bins, it is not allowed in the bins. By law, the recycling bins are for Benzie County Residential Use Only. Materials from businesses are not permitted in the bins.
Placing materials in the bins that are not listed on the front of the bin, or leaving materials outside of the bins, is considered illegal dumping.
